The new season is almost upon us and I can hardly catch my breath from last season. A very successful 2006/07 we had with the 1st Team sweeping the boards:

UK Corporate Games Mixed Netball Champions 2007

2nd Team struggled in 1st Division due to availability of players but managed to win a few games.

3rd Team won the Winter League Division 5 and came second in the Summer League 2006/07. Losing out to the eventual winners.

The Juniors had a good season:

U14s represented Stormers at National Clubs

U16s missed out by 1 goal to represent Stormers

We had 5 girls on the Regional Talent Development Training programme, with one player going through to trial for the U17s at National Level.

We also had representation throughout all age groups at County Level with Stormers having the majority of members in the squads.

I have been disappointed at the lack of match play our Juniors have had over the last season, but South Yorkshire County have assured me that there will be more opportunity to play this coming season. If this does not transpire then I will be setting up a Stormers League for Juniors. This will be an open invitation to all Junior Clubs in the Yorks and Humber Region. It will give players a higher level of netball and hopefully get them on the Netball England player pathway.

Development has also been a key area for the club and now with the appointment of a Development Officer we will be able to offer more opportunities in playing, coaching, umpiring, mentoring or whatever member require
